Congregational Life Hub
There are a number of sections in the hub that are of use to all our congregations. In this series we are looking at some of the webpages that are of use to LCNZ congregations, parishes, leaders and members. Have a read and make use of these resources.
Information Technology (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
The LCA Information Technology team have a number of product offerings that you are able to select, order and use.
LCA Email Addresses
LCA email accounts are issued to all pastors and other church workers, including staff paid through LCA Payroll, volunteers registered on LAMP2 and all other users who have access to LCA resources. LCA IT administers this service to the church. We protect all LCA email accounts with multi-factor authentication. In New Zealand email users are provided with an email address first name.lastname@lutheran.org.nz.

One LCANZ email address per congregation can be covered under the current Microsoft donation programme. These will generally be in the churchname.location@lutheran.org.nz format (eg stpauls.christchurch@lutheran.org.nz). These are beneficial for the following purposes:
- collection point for all congregation emails;
- easily shared and transportable between people (great when you need to transfer from one person to another for staff or volunteers)
- attachable to an O365 account (which includes Word, Excel, Teams and others)
Website Hosting
LCA Information Technology can manage your website on their servers. Web hosting is like renting space on the Internet. It secures a dedicated space for your website. We can provide this service for LCA congregations and agencies. Your website will be stored on an LCA-managed server in Australia, which, in turn, is supported by a national hosting company. Our website hosting service is available to all LCANZ agencies and congregations at discounted prices.
Domain Name Registration
A domain name is the address of a webpage (‘yourchurch.org.au’). Subject to approval of your proposed name, we will register your domain name on your behalf. Because of our buying power, it is likely that we can offer discounted prices. If you already have a domain registered elsewhere, you can transfer it to us. Once your domain name is registered, you can use it for your website, email addresses or both.
Support
Depending on your circumstances the LCA IT will be able to provide support to you and your organisation. There are costs associated with this, but they may be more sustainable or affordable than using a commercial operator. They are here to help you with your IT questions and problems. there is a 24/7 support service lca.org.au/service where you can search our Knowledge Base for the answer to your question.
