LCA Presence video and discussion guides
Dear Pastors, Church Workers and Leaders
The LCA has developed a new video series, Presence, to introduce those new to the church to what it means to be a Lutheran Christian. This will be also a good video to help members refresh in their faith. The series comes with a study guide.
I recommend strongly that you use these in a group format -perhaps after service on Sunday or as part of a fellowship group. You could especially encourage those new to faith to attend, however as we know from successful faith formation courses it is good if there is a mix of new and existing worshippers. If there are no new people in your congregation, still consider using this in a group format, and encourage members to invite their friends and families to attend.
The ‘Presence’ video series is now available from the LCA website here. (For those who don’t know or who don’t click on links before reading on, Presence is a nine-part video series that introduces people to what Lutherans believe. A project of the LCANZ Churchwide Office, this versatile and free faith-life resource unpacks key Lutheran teachings using the films as conversation starters.)
The new study guides can be downloaded individually or as a full study guide, either to print or share onscreen/online from www.lca.org.au/presence
Pastor Dan Mueller has prepared another study guide to accompany the videos which will be posted on the LCNZ website here: Forms – Lutheran Church of New Zealand
I pray this Presence brings blessing to you and your congregation and those you are in contact with.
