CoS met on Teams on Tuesday 9 June
CoS are using the consent agenda arrangements for a number of “business as usual” items, including minutes, correspondence and communications matters. If any member wants to discuss an item on the consent list it is removed from the consent agenda and added to the discussion items.
Manse Rectification Project

Other matters considered over the period
- CoS received the 2026 Q1 Financial Statements.
- CoS agreed to make a submission through the ICB net work in relation to the changes to the change on the cap on charitable donations announced in the 2026 Budget.
- CoS noted that the 2026 distribution from the AOB Nitschke estate had been received.
- CoS discussed the LCA PSD policies on Safeguarding and Prevention of Harm and will provide feedback to the LCA on items of concern.
- CoS discussed the LCA Lay Workers Department’s Lay Workers policies and will provide feedback to the LCA on items of concern.
Mission Directions
- The member has been approached to be the project manager.
- Artwork, website and resources are now being developed.
- GGTB grant has been applied for to support the Mission Directions.
Future meetings

- CoS is meeting with LCA’s General Council Board on 19 June. Three members of Council of Synod will represent the LCNZ.
- CoS representative members have been invited to attend a LCA Symposium in Adelaide to discuss the Governance of the LCA on 15 and 16 August 2026. “The purpose of the symposium is to have preliminary conversations evaluating the governance structures in our LCANZ to discern if they effectively serve our ministry-mission as the church (our ecclesiology).”
