CoS met on 9 December by teams for the final meeting of the year
Manse Rectification Project
- The contractor started on 10 September, and the project has been progressing well and remains on budget.
- There continue to be additional work items that have been uncovered once the cladding was removed. These have been separately approved by Council of Synod
- The current completion date is 15 December and while this will be extended it is anticipated that the project will be completed in December.
Salaries Advisory Committee
- The salaries advisory committee reported their recommendations to COS
- The pastor salary has been increased by 2.2% – determined by the rise in average wages.
- The allowances have been increased by 3.0% – determined by the rise in consumer prices
- The updated IRD kilometre claim rates have been accepted.
- the new schedule is being prepared and will be distributed by 19 December.
- The LCA Payroll team will update this partially in the fortnight ended 11 January and in full the following fortnight.
Other matters considered over the period
- CoS members start their meetings with a devotion and sharing their Minute for Mission.
- CoS approved the adoption of a “Consent Agenda” format for 2025 meetings with a view to better concentration on decision making processes.
- CoS met with investment managers Rutherford Rede for the year end briefing on market conditions.
- The LCANZ payroll project has now been enacted with three successful pay runs having been completed.
- The 2026 meeting schedule was approved with COS having scheduled meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every second month, starting at 7:00pm, except for two face to face meetings which will be in February and September.
- CoS are working on implementing action plans for the Mission Directions – Connecting people with Jesus. These will be a major part of the February CoS meeting
