CoS met on four occasions by teams and in one face to face meeting over this period.
LCNZ Convention of Synod

Members, as appointed ex Officio or elected by Convention for the current synodical period are Bishop Richard Schwedes, Assistant Bishop Warren Paltridge, Treasurer Dennis Mollet, Congregational Life Coordinator Rev Phil Husband, Pastor representative Rev Andy Marr, Lay members Amaana Pilli and David Pang. The Council was installed on Sunday 22 June at the Convention closing service.
Council of Synod met on 23 June, 8 July and 12 August to welcome all members, particularly the new members Amaana Pilli and David Pang. The follow up on Convention of Synod items including approvals for new members in relation to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements with the banking providers, Conflict of interest register update, Safe Church requirements, and updated Charities Services requirements have been completed.
Rev Andy Marr was reappointed chairperson.
All members of Council of Synod were appointed to the LCNZ Trust Board.
Manse Rectification Project
Council of Synod have approved the contract for the manse rectification. The contractor will be starting 10 September.
The Council also agreed to use current cash reserves to fund the project rather than lending the funds. This is expected to have a repayment period of 15 years rather than 30 years.
Initially the property will be available for a residential rental once teh project has been completed.
Other matters considered over the period
- CoS members start their meetings with a devotion and sharing their Minute for Mission.
- CoS approved the LCNZ quarterly financial statements for the three months ending 31 June 2025
- The budget for financial year 2026 was approved
- The Gateway Gift Trust grant application for a 2026 grant of&$87,000 was approved.
- The LCANZ payroll project is now working towards a first payroll to be processed as of 5 October and paid on 8 October for all pastors and church workers.
