The LCNZ have four opportunities to serve available to members of the church.
1 Lutheran Church of Hong Kong synod
The Lutheran Church of Hong Kong Synod is seeking English speaking people with a passion for sharing the Gospel to young people at their July Vacation Bible School. Assistance is provided for airfares and accommodation.

2 LCANZ Youth Forum
The LCA are holding a Youth Forum in Adelaide in August 2024 as part of the preparation for Convention of Synod. Youth from all around the LCANZ have been invited and CoS have requested that this invite be extended to youth members of the LCNZ congregations via the Church Worker Conference members. If you or a youth member of your congregation is interested please approach your pastor for further information.
3 Gateway Gift Trust Board
The Gateway Gift Trust Board administers the funds in the Gateway gift, which was set up in 2001 following the sale of property held for a new school that was unable to secure the appropriate Ministry of Educaton licenses.
The Trust Deed calls for between 6 and 10 Trustees. Currently there are six trustees, and this is considered insufficient for efficient oversight, as one apology means a quorum is unable to be met.
The Trust Board is looking for additional Trustees to serve. The AGM is 14 May, and it would be desirable for the new members to be appointed at that meeting (but not essential).
The Trust is looking for.
- Up to four additional members
- Must be confirmed members of a LCNZ Congregation
- Expertise in finance, investment, trust constitutions, or LCNZ Congregation or Parish administration would be most desired, but general church experience would also be considered.
- Please send a letter of application to GGTB Chairperson Andrew Mattiske (Andrew.mattiske@lutheran.org.nz) and copy to Bishop Robert Bartholomaeus (bishop@lutheran.org.nz ) .
- A short interview process will be undertaken prior to making any recommendations for appointment.
4 LCANZ Nominations Committee
Nominations for positions on the boards, councils, commissions and committees of the LCANZ are now open.
Appointment to these governance bodies is for a synodical term. Apart from the General Church Board (GCB), whose members are elected at General Synod and take office at the end of Synod, all other positions change at the beginning of the new year. Like GCB, the LCANZ Assistant Bishop will be elected at the upcoming Convention of General Synod, which will be held in Adelaide in October this year. Read more
